It's easy being green.. with a green summer dress!

>> CHECK OUT THE MOST RECENT VIDEO <<

Right off the bat, I wanted to say thank you for your kind comments to my last post which was rather on the geeky side (even though I spiced it up with some high heels). This will always stay a blog where I will post my outfits whenever I get the opportunity to wear them, but with your encouragement.. I might, now and then, post some things about my geeky side. :D

As I have said in a previous post, during my holidays in France.. I got to wear quite a number of summer outfits. And I will be showing them in the next few posts. Like with all my photo and video shoots, I'm very grateful that I can always count on someone to help me out!

This shoot was on the Sunday of my holiday and I brought this green/black dress from Steps with a cute black ribbon as a sort of belt. I love dresses and tops from Steps, because I know that a size 38 (EU) will always fit me. Nothing annoys me more than when supposedly same size clothing from one brand will vary from dress to dress!

This little village had so many nice places for photos, you can definitely see that I'm not in the Netherlands! ;-)

Looking at this back-side shot of myself in this dress, I really think I should do something with my hair. I just have no idea.. so I guess a visit to the hair saloon is in order. Any suggestions?

With this dress, I tried to make sure that there were no trees or bushes in the background. Otherwise, you probably would not see me. I think this dress could be used in the army as a camouflage! :P

Another short video, nothing special. If you think there's something I can do to make them a bit more interesting.. I'm always open to suggestions. As much as I like doing photo shoots.. I like videos even more!

Upgrades: geek and chic :-P

>> CHECK OUT THE MOST RECENT VIDEO <<

In the title of my blog.. it says Fashion, High Heels and Geekiness.

I will readily admit that most of the time, the blog-posts feature the first two topics. The last topic usually gets less attention. Not because I'm not a geek and also not because I don't do geeky things.. because trust me, I am and I do! :-D

Blue high heels and ASUS GeFore GTX 970 video graphics card

Usually, it's just that for my blog, I think most of you are more interested in fashion and shoes than my ramblings on science and other geeky stuff. I mean really, how often do you see an expensive video graphics card (more expensive than most shoes I desire) featured on a fashion blog? :-P

improvised multi media PC with Linux and XMBC

And when I'm not doing stuff related to fashion, science, movies, sports.. I do stuff like this: assembling a PC from old computer parts, installing Linux and testing it. Why you ask? Because this thing will eventually become a small multimedia box for my living room. As soon as I've found a cute box to put everything in. ;-)

Don't worry, the next blog-post will follow regular programming! :-P

There will be new video later this week, but for now.. enjoy the last two!

Maxed out in a green flower maxi dress

>> CHECK OUT THE MOST RECENT VIDEO <<

Nothing like a couple of days of rain in the Netherlands to make me think back to my sunny holiday. I'm soooo wishing I was back in France sipping on some rosé!

Did I say I like sun? Lots of sun! The sunshine really invites to wearing short dress, skirts, shorts and swimsuits, but sometimes, it so nice to wear a long flowy maxi dress. And I love the movements of the dress as the warm wind blows against it. :)

I'm usually a fan of super figure-hugging clothes ( while I still have the body for it :-P ), but with a maxi dress.. I just love how it's very loose-fitting and roomy. And another advantage.. I didn't need to rub my legs with sunscreen that day.. so yay for being lazy! :-P

I combined this dress with a black hat.. though I think a straw hat would have been better. Unfortunately, I only brought one big suitcase! ;-)

Since this dress covers most of my legs, I thought it would be a good idea to wear these nude strappy heels from Forever 21 to make the legs look a bit longer. It also takes care of the problem of the dress touching the ground. Double win! :)

Okay, you know and I know that I'm quite incorrigible when it comes to clothing and legs.. so the next few outfits will most likely feature shorter dresses, shorts and skirts!

Of course, I also made a video, though I'm sure other videos before and after this one will be watched with more interest! I know how the Internet works with these kind of things! :-P

At the pool: polka dot swimsuit and stiletto heels

>> CHECK OUT THE MOST RECENT VIDEO <<

The main reason for my holiday (as I'm sure it is for many) was to get some mental and physical rest and relaxation.  Since last summer, I've been working two jobs and sure.. they're both 'part-time', but they both feel like full-time jobs. And I really felt that I was running on low fuel.. so it was time to fill her up!

Relaxing can mean a lot of things for different people, but for me.. it just means chilling at a pool under the sun with a refreshing beverage. I might visit a couple of cities, hike through nature, visit museums (I love history!)... but in the end, I will spend many days on my back soaking up the rays.

For obvious reasons, I'm very body conscious.. so I was very happy when I found this gorgeous purple polka-dot swimsuit. It hides my tummy (more or less), gives me a flattering figure and looks quite proper. Probably the only thing I should've done was to paint my nails in purple or black, but whenever I'm on holidays.. I'm a bit more lazy. ;-)

As you know, I love my heels.. but one does not simply wear shoes in the pool (unless of course, that's your thing.. but I don't want to ruin my shoes). So, I also took them off.. and there is photographic evidence! There is even video footage of that! :-P

Naturally, I wore many other outfits during my holidays and you will see them in the coming weeks. But whenever I was at the pool relaxing, you can rest assured that I was wearing this polka-dot swimsuit and sipping cold French white wine! :-D

Here are just some quick clips of me in this outfit.. both outside and inside the pool! Enjoy!

Holidays: France & Switzerland

If it seemed to you that I was absent in the last 10 or so days, then a) thanks so much for noticing! And b) you are correct. I've been on holidays!

This is just a post to let you all know that I will start regular posting in a couple of days after I've settled back into my normal routine. :)

I was in the South of France last week and the weekend before that, I went to Switzerland.

Both are lovely countries to visit, lots of interesting old cities and villages, breathtaking nature, lakes and mountains!

Lots of good food as well, so I had to be careful otherwise I'd risk not fitting in my dresses. :-P

Speaking about dresses.. I packed a few things in my suitcases, so expect the next couple of outfit posts to feature France as the background: the holiday villa, the pool, the mountains, the cities of Carcassonne and Sete and much more! :)
